Now they have released an update to this jailbreak tool to support boot animations, which can be downloaded and installed from Cydia. They have also changed the settings screen to reflect the device in use, so that you don’t see those settings that are not relevant to your iDevice.

Warning for Unlockers

Redsn0w requires you to update to stock iOS 4.3.1 firmware, an action which would result in upgrading of your iPhone baseband and thus loss of unlock. STAY AWAY from Redsn0w jailbreak if you rely on carrier unlock. Instead use PwnageTool 4.3 or Sn0wbreeze 2.5 to restore to custom built iOS 4.3.1 firmware while preserving baseband.

Note that Ultrasn0w 1.2 is currently not compatible with iOS 4.3.1, which means even if you were able to get to 4.3.1 with your baseband intact, you still would not be able to unlock your iPhone. The Dev Team is expected to release an update to Ultrasn0w unlock within a day or two. So stay tuned!

Enable Boot Animations On iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch After Jailbreaking iOS 4.3.1

If you have already jailbroken your device, then you can simply run Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 over your existing jailbreak. There is no need to restore your device to stock iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Just make sure that you have unselected ‘Install Cydia’. If you like to have boot animations, then check the option ‘Allow boot animation’.

Work For iPad 2 Jailbreak Commenced!

Now a tweet from p0sixninja confirms that once again iPad 2 jailbreak has attained focus and may soon be out if everything goes well.

Since 4.3.1 is already exploited by the legendary @i0n1c, we’re working on finishing iPad2 jailbreak now.

Recently iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak has been released by the Dev Team for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, and iPad (1st Gen) in the form of Redsn0w 0.9.6rc12 and PwnageTool 4.3. Even Sn0wbreeze, the PwnageTool counterpart for Windows has been updated to jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 untethered – Sn0wbreeze 2.5.

Can I Update My iPad 2 To iOS 4.3.1?

iPad 2 owners are recommended to stay put on iOS 4.3. MuscleNerd has already tweeted that future iPad 2 jailbreakers should stay away from the iOS 4.3.1 update.

Now P0sixninja too confirmed this by replying to a follower that iPad 2 users SHOULD NOT update to iOS 4.3.1 unless told explicitly by them.

What Is the ETA For iPad 2 Jailbreak?

As always, there is a lot of speculation when you see a tweet such as this. People tend to jump to conclusions that the jailbreak has reached a finishing stage or may be available in one or two weeks. Putting this speculation to an end, P0sixninja has cleared any misgivings about iPad 2 jailbreak availability.

He said that he always announces things before he starts working on them. So the work on iPad 2 jailbreak has just started!

The phone is coming on Verizon Wireless as announced earlier amid February. The CDMA version has now appeared before the FCC where some uncommon innards’ images revealed that the phone is having a SIM card slot.

Well, that’s unlike the ordinary Verizon phones but this is not first time that we see a SIM card slot on a CDMA phone. The same has been practiced in some DROIDs earlier but these phones were on LTE network of Verizon Wireless. As Xperia Play is operating on 4G only so that’s strange because Sony Ericsson and Verizon have not been advertising it.

The CDMA Xperia Play has got the same whooping specs as the GSM version has. The SIM card phenomenon may be indicating that the phone is a world phone. And Verizon, if thinks so, has got no objection over that assumption. Xperia Play has got worldwide fame already and the CDMA version will be getting a warm welcome pretty soon. 4 inch display, 1GHz processor, MP camera and PSP like gaming controls means a lot for Sony Ericsson fans as well as for the whole smartphone market.
